Finding Happiness Within Yourself

Have you ever found yourself dragging throughout the day? Tired for no reason? Just a lack of energy and enthusiasm to do anything. That is a sign that you could be suffering from a form of depression. Trust me it sounds bad but it is totally normal. Many people are depressed and don't know it. Depression isn't something that just goes away it has to be controlled.

A good way to control depression is to first find happiness within yourself. A lot of people make the mistake in looking for happiness in those around them but that is how you set yourself up for hurt and sorrow. In order to be a step ahead of your depression you must first recognize that is exist and then you must make a plan to take it one day at a time. Each day must become an assignment to be better than you were yesterday.

The first step in finding happiness within is to recognize and be happy with who you are in your own skin. You have to be unapologetically you at all times. Everyone has a unique weirdness about themselves which of course is what makes us individuals. Find things that you like to do for you and not because all of your friends are doing the same thing.

The goal is to work on yourself and to do that you have to fade out everyone else outside of your bubble. God put us all on this earth for a different purpose and in order to find your purpose you must first find yourself. If you are like me and you are married with children then you understand the meaning of sacrifice and you are the master of being selfless. It is totally OK to want to be that super mom or super dad and forget about your own needs to meet the needs of your love ones however in doing that you have to think...if I am not healthy who will be here to care for my loves. This statement is what keeps me motivated to find happiness within myself for the sake of my children.

There were times I would look for everyone and everything else to make me happy and I couldn't figure out why I still felt so miserable. The issue was I was trying to please everyone except myself. I had to start taking twenty minutes each day to make sure I did something for myself. Whether it was read a book or listen to music or a DIY project I make sure to find time for myself even if it isn't that much time.

Having that balance has really helped me learn that me time is just as important as the time I spend with my family and if I am going to be my best me for them then I have to maintain that balance incorporating me time into my schedule.

Hopefully this post finds you well! Remember to always be your best self and you are awesome! Let me know what you would like for me to post about. Send your post requests to the email linked below:
